Malas are traditionally 108 strung beads used for prayer and meditation. The act of creating one can be equally as meaningful and relaxing, and an excellent practice in mindfulness. When you sit down to create your own jewelry, you can happily stay focused on the project at hand, and feel a wonderful sense of accomplishment and pride wearing your creation(s). You may choose to create a knot in between each bead, in between only some of the beads, or no knots at all. This kit's versatility makes it a beautiful gift for all levels of jewelry making experience.
Each of our mala kits comes with: One bead design board, one Awl (the tool for creating knots in between beads) one 6FT length of black nylon cord for easy stringing, 108 gorgeous and uniform wooden beads, and one beautiful tassel. Clear and concise instructions are included.
